SENSREC project holds first workshop on hazardous waste management in Pakistan
A three-day workshop on enhancing hazardous waste management in Pakistan’s ship recycling sector was held in Karachi from 20 to 22 May, drawing over 100 participants from government agencies, academia, and the private sector. It was organized under the joint International Maritime Organization (IMO) and International Labour Organization (ILO) SENSREC project.

A high-level side event titled “A safe and environmentally sound approach to ship recycling” was held on 1 May 2025 in Geneva, during the COP 25 meetings of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm (BRS) Conventions.

IMO SENSREC and GreenVoyage2050 Host Joint Seminar at Maritime University of Bangladesh
A landmark joint seminar was held on 29 April at the Maritime University of Bangladesh in Dhaka, bringing together two flagship International Maritime Organization (IMO) initiatives: the SENSREC Project and the GreenVoyage2050 programme. The event convened university students to hear about the latest advancements in sustainable ship recycling and maritime decarbonization.
